Flea Bath
Nobody likes fleas but they are a fact of life if you have a dog. They live off your pet by biting its skin and sucking its blood. When a dog flea bites, it injects saliva to stop the blood clotting whilst it sucks it up. The saliva contains chemicals which often cause an allergic reaction in the dog. This can cause serious irritation to you and your pet as well as potentially carrying disease. Fleas can also carry and infect pets with tapeworms.
The signs of fleas are: - Bites which look like small red pimples, black, gritty material in the coat, and areas of inflammation on the animals back which leads to scratching.
