This Frequently Asked Questions section gives answers to the most common questions asked by people interested in our grooming services.

Click on any question and the relevant answer will be displayed. If you cannot find the question or answer you are looking for, please call us or drop in to our grooming parlour where we would be more than happy to help.

  • Do I require an appointment for all your services?

    No.

There are some services that don’t require a booking; these are nail clipping, nail painting and ear cleaning. It is also possible to do a brush out or to bathe a dog without an appointment depending on availability.

  • I won’t be able to make my appointment, what do I do?

We understand that emergency situations may come up and some people may not be able to make it to their scheduled grooming appointment.

If this is the case, please call us as early as possible to let us know you cannot attend as we may be able to allocate your appointment slot to another customer.

We can then re-schedule you in for another appointment that better suits you and your dog.

  • I need my dog groomed out of hours, can you help me?

    Yes. We can help.

We understand that alot of people cannot make our regular opening hours due to work etc. We are now pleased to be able to offer customers ”Late Appointments". This service is available after our normal working hours of 9am - 6pm, from Monday to Friday.

There is no additional cost for this service.

  • How often should my dog be groomed?

The answer to this question can vary widely based on the coat type and lifestyle of your dog.

If your dog has a high maintenance coat (any coat that is long, thick, or curly, or mats easily) you may need to schedule grooming as frequently as every 4 weeks. Some people even prefer a bi-weekly schedule so that their dog always looks freshly groomed. If however, you have a dog with a lower maintenance coat (short haired coat) every 8 weeks may be enough to keep him or her looking great.

A general rule of thumb for those in the middle is once every 6 weeks. We can usually advise the best time interval once we have more details on your dog or have worked with your dogs coat previously.

  • How long will it take to get my dog groomed?

On average we allow about 2 hours to groom your pet, this of course depends on factors like: if it’s a full groom or simply a brush out, it also depends on the size and temperament of your dog.

The time frame depends on each individual pet as the coat, condition of the coat, age, temperament, breed and style are all relevant factors. When we meet your pet we can discuss anything of relevance as each client is different. Our main concern is the welfare of your pet whilst in our care and to make it an enjoyable experience for both them and us.
